Tournament Rules
ELEVATED SPORTS EVENTS TOURNAMENT RULES
1. Each team is responsible for having a clock or book person for each game.
o Home team (First team listed on schedule) is responsible to be the official scorer. You may use your scorebook and the visiting team is responsible for running the clock. Official ESE score sheet must be completed with the winning team clearly marked with the official score.
o Tournament officials keep the scores for all your games. Check the schedule and scores at www.elevatedsportsevents.com
2. Game balls
o Have your own balls to warm up with.
o Recommended that all games in the 2nd thru 7th grades use women’s size ball
o Recommended all games in the 8th thru 11 grade use the men’s size ball
o With both coaches agreement, the men’s ball can be used at any age group
3. Game time
o You need to be at the Gym thirty (30) minutes before your game starts. Score sheets will be at the score table PLEASE FILL OUT IMMEDIATELY!
o Game time is game time. If your team is not ready to play at game time, the game will be forfeited by a score of 16-0
o A team may start and finish a game with less than 5 players
o If a court is running ahead of schedule, both coaches can agree to start the game early. If both do not agree, the game will start at the scheduled time
4. LENGTH OF GAMES
o Games in grades 2nd thru 6th will be played in two 16 minute halves ( Running Clock)
o Games in grade 7th thru 9th grade will be played in two 18 minute halves ( Running clock)
o Games in the 10th& 11th grades will be played in two 20 minute halves ( Running Clock)
o Clock only stops for injury and time outs with running clock
o The clock will stop for fouls, violations and TOs for the last two minutes of the second half
o Clock will not stop in second half if a team is down 20 or more points
5. Foul allotment and Foul Shots
o A player is allotted 6 fouls per game
o Foul shots will not be attempted until the 10th foul occurs in the half and then each foul will result in two foul shots. There will not be any one and one foul shots.
6. Defense
o Teams may play any type of defense. Full court is allowed in the 4th thru 11th grades divisions but must be pulled off after reaching a 20 point lead
o If lead is cut below 20 points the full court press can be put back on
7. Overtime
o Each team will receive three 30 second timeous per game. Time outs do not carry over to overtime.
o There will be a 3-minute overtime period, if needed. The clock will stop the last minute of overtime. After the 3-minute overtime, if scores are still tied the second overtime will be the first team to 4 points declared the winner

o Point Differential

Three way tie breaker to determine higher seed

***IF YOU ARE EJECTED FROM ANY CONTEST PLAYER/FAN/COACH YOU ARE DONE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE EVENT. ANY TEAM FIGHTING WILL BE ELIMINATED FROM PARTICIPATION.
